The Mesa and being Mesa Carrier.
The Mesa is a transportable alter
which represent your personal power. It's an external
representation of the inside of the person. Like a map on which
energies and personality the person has. It is used for
ceremonies and for healing work. It is not in it self the
personal power it is only a representation of it.
The Mesa is
made out of a piece of clothes, and it folded in a specific way
to keep it closed. Inside the Mesa there is different khuyas,
which is holy objects or stone. Each khuya represent a specific
power, it can be from different places that the person has
worked on or some that has been giving to you from your teacher.
The object can have more than one power or connection at the
same time.
There is a
lot of different ways to build your Mesa, and for the most times
people have a teacher to guide you in the beginning. But usually
you will have stones from the four elements, Wind, Water, Sun
and Pacha Mama (mother earth). Also you will balance it between
male and female energies. The Mesa will be in constant changes,
as you are.
During a
workshop I let my Mesa go around in the circle and one of the
participations said that she felt like it was alive. She was
able to feel the pulse and the vibration from it. Another person
felt like she was about to get strangled when she held my Mesa,
and because I use it for healings it might have different effect
on different people. It is like with your person some people get
attracted to you and some don't, and it is not because there is
anything wrong, you just have different vibrations.
To be a Mesa
Carrier for me simply means that you have a Mesa and that you
work with it. Other people have different opinions what it means
to be Mesa Carrier, but always listen to yourself and what makes
sense to you.
Be need you
can see a picture of my Mesa and how it looks when it is folded.
